Not sure what to say?

I only just heard of Dave´s passing. I was a student at Thiells Elementary School (1982-1988) and Mr. Rounds was my principal, some 40 years ago. He was such a good role model and fair. I recall when "visiting" his office (yes, I was in trouble) that he played baseball at Syracuse and maybe seeing a picture of it too. After reading his obituary I´m reflecting on how I too went to Syracuse University for college and met my wife there. I´m sure he would have smiled, maybe laughed at that.

A true gentleman, I´m sorry to have heard this sad news as Dave was recently on my mind. I will always remember his monogrammed shirts and glass of chocolate milk.

Dear Brenda and family, I am sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I have wonderful memories of Dave at Thiells, our "home away from home". During his tenure, I was a parent, PTA member, and TA. Dave encouraged me to go back for my degree in education, so I ended up teaching at Thiells for many years. But my fondest memory is seeing him sitting in the first grade hallway reading Casey at the Bat to a very happy student. May your many wonderful memories sustain you at this difficult time.

Brenda, So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. My condolences to you and Douglas, and Beverly, and Julie.

Dave was a great addition to Dutch Hollow Country Club His personality and competitiveness earned him the nickname "Battleship" Dave. He must have been an inspirational teammate and educator. If you had the opportunity to play a golf match with Dave you always had an enjoyable time but even more enjoyable was the time spent conversing with him after play. As our members gather in our grill room we will be reminded of him as we pass the championship plaques on our walls with his name etched on...

Mr Rounds was my first principal in 1975. He managed to survive 5 of us Kelemen kids through the years. He was the epitome of goodness as a principal and guided my expectation of what a healthy school community should look like as I became an educator myself. Godspeed and your memory is certainly a blessing.

Mr. Rounds' advice made me a better teacher and person. It was my good fortune that he was the first principal for whom I worked.

Dear Brenda,Doug,Beverly,Julie, We´re thinking of you with heavy hearts. Years of friendship, family, fun, laughter is what we remember. We will pick a star for you Dave. Blessings to all. Love,Marge and Ron Smith

I am so incredibly sad to hear that Dave passed suddenly. Literally just a few days before Dave and I were on the phone planning some golf down on Hilton Head in March. He was my golf partner for 17 years. Our friendship was beyond our golfing. Dave was like a Father to me in many ways. When we played golf he was always either talking about his family, about Syracuse University, or his golf game. I enjoyed my time with Dave very much and I cannot express how much Dave will be missed. ...
