I knew David Schlageter over the years as the physician of a dear friend, with whom he kept an ongoing friendship after she moved to NYC. After her passing, he and I remained in touch -- and I came to care about him personally as I grew more aware of his kindness, warmth, generosity of spirit, and complete lack of pretension. What an inspiration, and what a gentle steady force he was in the life of our mutual friend who had the good fortune to be his patient. I was so looking forward to...

My heartfelt sympathy to the Schlageter family on your loss. Let the memories of his warm smile and happy soul live with each of us. I was a pleasure to have worked with such a wonderful man.

To our life long neighbor, you will always be missed, and will always have a special place in our hearts. It was wonderful to hear so much about your amazing journey this past weekend, and to learn what we have always known; that you were the smartest, kindest, and most loyal man in the room. Rest in peace.

Deepest Sympathy to the Schlageter Family. Dr. Schlageter was one of the best at GHS, he had that wonderful smile and he was so good with all his patients. I had the pleasure of working with him many years ago and the staff adored him and his ways. May he rest in peace and we all have the fond memories of him.

Dr. Schlageter and my father worked together for decades at Genesee Hospital.

Due to health reasons, my dad cannot communicate right now.

If he could, he would repeat what he said so many times in the past, which is that Dr. Schlageter was a great physician for the same reasons he was a great person, husband and dad.

Our families were very close, and I know my mom is especially distraught over the sudden loss of such a compassionate and wonderful man... and the loss...
