Not sure what to say?

Ken & Ron and families, I worked with Dave at CPHS for 15 years where I was a secretary. His classroom was across the hall from the office where I always kept a candy jar for teachers as a 'thank you' for their constant efforts to shaping life-long learners and well-rounded students. Dave enjoyed stopping by for his treat each day, and I enjoyed talking with him. We also shared a love of music and travel. He will be missed. He is face-to-face with Christ now, where all of us one day hope...

Mr. Schoon was one of those rare and special persons who quietly went about his work and cared enough to leave an enduring positive impression on those who were paying attention. I was unaware of his vast musical talent as well as the depth of his faith, things that now make me respect him all the more. Sadly, I did not get the opportunity to be mentored by him when I attended Wallace, for I am certain that he would have made the same impact on my life as he did on so many others. Well done,...

Twenty years, perhaps, teaching at Lew Wallace with Mr. Schoon...Two things I remember: (1) Total commitment to imparting knowledge, especially in a lively manner, and (2) always a smile when he said "hello"...

My condolences to the family! David Schoon was my chemistry and physics teacher at Lew Wallace High School 1983-1984. He made a profound impact in my life and challenged me with what he saw in me in order to reach higher goals in life. Now I pass what I learned with him onto my grandchildren! I'm blessed to have been a student of his!

Mr Schoon was an excellent physics instructor. But more importantly, he was a kind and generous man. He was instrumental and helping me gain admission into college and helped me personally during many difficult times in high school. God bless him.

I was also a member at Central Baptist Church many years ago and remember David playing the organ and also singing in a quartet with my brother Paul and Jim Whitmire. He was so talented.

Mr. Schoon was my chemistry teacher at Lew Wallace (1982-1983); he was very unique and deliberate in his lesson plans. I learned a great deal in his class. I wish that I had taken his physics class too. I believe that he shared his love of music with our class. He was truly a gift to Northwest IN.

Sorry to hear about the loss of David. David played organ at Central Baptist Church in Hobart where I attended at the time. He played beautifully music.
