David Brooks Smoyer

I am sorry to hear of his passing. I knew Mr. Smoyer while I was at Swarthmore College in the 80's, and he was the Athletic Director.

I rejoice in the common memories of Dartmouth and watching David in the goal.

Please accept my, condolences in the loss of such an unforgettable man, David. I´ve known David almost all of my life. When I was a child, I didn´t quite get him. David would always come to the beach with all the kids. David being the avid swimmer, and I a not so good swimmer, was afraid to swim to the dock at Pine Point. My condolences to the Smoyer Family. Dave was my soccer coach at Roxbury Latin for 3 years. I made the team his first year at RL when I was in the third class (sophomore to the rest of the world). He was a great coach (although the teams were below .500); but more importantly a mentor both on the field & in the RL halls.
