David was a loving husband, father, uncle and Zayde. He is survived by his wife Marguerite Ricciardone, daughter Sophia Stone (Robert Stackhouse), sons Alexander Stone (Margaret Horvath) and Samuel Stone (Aubrey Thrane), grandson Kittell Stone and sister Beverly Ash (Paul Ash) and niece Dawn Ash, and many family, friends, colleagues, patients, neighbors, students and fellow bird/boat enthusiasts. While I only met David once, he was truly an angel in our life. Back in 2021 my husband suffered a cardiac arrest in our little town in Maine and because of him we were able to transport my husband to Tufts Medical Center which I believe saved his life. He visited my husband daily during his month long hospital stay and truly made an impact in our life. My daughters still have their dad because of his actions and support. Forever grateful for the impact he had in our life

We are sorry for your loss. David was so kind and went out of his way with his friend Charles one evening after work to present to the pre-med students at Gordon College in Wenham, MA. He and Charles were wonderful and humorous as they provided their insight on becoming doctors in this day and age. Everyone enjoyed the presentation and Q & A. The students and I were very grateful. I pray your days ahead are filled with only wonderful memories. Sincerely, Andrea Ribeiro

Dr. Stone-where do I begin....he was a magnificent person and physician. I had the privilege of working his clinic at Tufts. I loved when he would come into my office and tell me stories-they were always lively and a bit crazy. If I couldn´t get a blood sample from one of his difficult to draw patients he would come in and draw arterially! He was the absolute best! And Sophia-our days together in clinic I cherish-you brought light and humor to every day-I miss those days! I am so sorry for your loss. I agree with the other comments that this world was a better place because your Dad was in it! He cared for my husband as well who is also heartbroken. We will forever smile at strangers and tip extra in his memory.

It is with great sorrow that we learned of Stony's passing.

His infectious enthusiasm for life was particularly evident in his cherished project of building a wooden boat with his family. This endeavor was more than just a craft; it was a testament to his love for tradition, craftsmanship, and the precious moments spent with loved ones.

Stony's spirit, much like the sturdy wood he worked with, will continue to inspire and remind us all of the joy found in creating something beautiful together.

His legacy sails on in the hearts of all who knew him, as we remember his intelligence, kindness, humility and sense of humor.
