Not sure what to say?

Miss Coach. Think about him often

Coach Trickler was a great coach but more a great person!

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Coach Trickler. Although I was never an athlete on one of his teams, he always took the time to speak with me in passing during my days at NA. It seemed like he was always smiling and had something funny to say. Perhaps my favorite memory of him was when he honked his horn from the car behind mine to let me know I had left a bag full of money we had raised for the Senior Prom on top of the car! Good old Mr. Trickler saved the day for sure!

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories and kind words about our father. It has been comforting to hear the fond memories people have, and to be reminded how he impacted people.

I just saw the announcement today. Sending out thoughts and prayers to his children. Your father was a wonderful man that always held a special place in my heart.

Condolences to you and yours at this time of sadness . He loved you and was so proud of you as you progressed into adulthood. I loved our time we shared together.

Dave was a big part of my PGHS experience along with other "renegade" friends. We had a lot of laughs and shared experiences. He was especially comforting when my mom died. His heart space and authenticity are admirable. My guess is he's still coaching, nay! playing, on a championship team. Phylis Tomlinson '61

Dave was an absolute stud in every way. I remember when I first started coaching at Rock Church Academy and everyone looked down their noses at me and our teams and our school.... Not Dave! Instead he did the opposite! He was kind and gracious and made himself available to me in the most authentic ways. He was a mentor and an incredible resource for all things basketball and Tidewater, VA to me. He was a true gentleman and a great coach! I am saddened to hear of his passing. I didn’t stay in...

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. David's legacy at H-SC will be talked about forever.
