SEPTEMBER 28, 1952 - JUNE 18, 2008 His greatest pleasures were his grandson, entertaining others, traveling, golfing, boating, soduku, shagging, beach music, fast cars, nice watches, dressing to the nines, and never ending pretty summer days on the water. Repairing everything was his passion. If...

Not sure what to say?

I had just heard about David's passing from my daugher Abby and wanted to send along my deepest sympathies for a fine man and his wonderful family. And I want to represent a small chapter in David's life, the Winnebow Indian Princess tribe. Bless you all.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sandy Tucker Moseley is my cousin and her computer is down now. She asked me to let you know that she is thinking of you and will be in touch with you soon.

Absolutely true, there was nothing David could not mastermind and somehow manufacture to make it all happen for someone. We first met David in 1978 through VanProducts. David became our friend. He understood our needs. NOBODY does it like David did! We extend our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to all of the Wendt family. David wherever you are now you must know we have missed you since the day you retired and stories we have in our memory of you will always make us smile. Rest in...

Libby, Lindsey, and Lee-
A great man who I came to know and love. I will miss him he was an amazing man and a second father to me for many years. I am sorry to hear of your loss. I love all of you very much and I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Libby and family,
You may not remember me, but Julie and I were close friends at Western Carolina University and while I lived in Raleigh then we parted ways when she moved to Wilmington. I enjoyed sharing some fun times with her and her family at the Wendt home in Raleigh. David was always a special part of the family. He made me laugh and always made be feel welcomed. My mother died of cancer eight years ago and the disease takes them away, but not the memories you treasure...

To Libby & Family: The service for David was perfect. Nothing else would have expressed how we felt about David. Love to you Libby & all your family. Love Mary

Dear Mrs. Wendt
I am sending my condolences to you and your family,I feel that i was fortunate to deal with Dave as I always called him .
Little did I know that He went by David but ,he never corrected me
and maybe thats why he always smiled when I addressed him that way.On several occasions I would stop by his office, just say Hey Dave and take a seat, and he would politely
stop what he was doing and shoot the breeze .I also remember him saying that he was going on the boat and to...

I have only seen David a handful of times over the last 10 to 15 years. However every time we happen to cross paths, it's as though he, Libby, Lee and Lindsey still live next door. David was a genuine soul devoid of pretense. There was never a doubt he cared about you and was truly interested in your welfare. David was a wonderful man and I will miss him dearly.

David was the finest gentleman that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I knew there was something special about him the first day I met him at school in 1968. His compassion and invaluable assistance to the physically disabled changed the lives of his clients for the better. My deepest sympathy to the entire Wendt family.
