David Whitfield

I wasn't familiar with David Whitfield - the vocalist - but was shocked to hear about his recent passing at a fairly young age. I was searching for a singer to sing the beautiful "My Wonderful One". I wanted to dedicate it to my wonderful wife, Deedee, who's very ill in the hospital. I came across 2 singers - Jerry Vale, who passed recently at 83...and David. They were both magnificent - and I found it difficult to choose between them. Suffice it to say - they both left tears in my eyes...

All of our class of 74 were stunned to hear of Dave's passing. We all have our own special memories of Dave as do I. He will be missed by many. Dana Oaks

I too was saddened to hear about David's passing. He was such a kind man who was always upbeat and had a smile on his face. He genuinely cared for others and went out of his way to make you feel important and special. He was very supportive when I was changing careers. He will definitely be missed.

I was shocked to hear the news of David's sudden passing. He was always so full of positive energy and fun. My wife Amy and I would like to offer Mary and family our heartfelt sympathy for their terrible loss . We were sorry to have been out of town and unable to attend the funeral proceedings.

I am deeply saddened at the loss the Whitfield family has sustained. He was a the following: camper extraordinaire, grill master, father, friend and all around great guy to BS with at Indian Guide Campouts with our sons. He was a guy that would teach, lend anything you needed and lead by example. A very patient and kind guy. I will miss him. Mary and children, may you all have God's loving grace.
