I wasn't familiar with David Whitfield - the vocalist - but was shocked to hear about his recent passing at a fairly young age. I was searching for a singer to sing the beautiful "My Wonderful One". I wanted to dedicate it to my wonderful wife, Deedee, who's very ill in the hospital. I came across 2 singers - Jerry Vale, who passed recently at 83...and David. They were both magnificent - and I found it difficult to choose between them. Suffice it to say - they both left tears in my eyes - as I thought about my beautiful Deedee, suffering in the hospital. "Thanks, David, for singing that gorgeous love song!" "My deepest sympathies to your family."

I too was saddened to hear about David's passing. He was such a kind man who was always upbeat and had a smile on his face. He genuinely cared for others and went out of his way to make you feel important and special. He was very supportive when I was changing careers. He will definitely be missed.

I am deeply saddened at the loss the Whitfield family has sustained. He was a the following: camper extraordinaire, grill master, father, friend and all around great guy to BS with at Indian Guide Campouts with our sons. He was a guy that would teach, lend anything you needed and lead by example. A very patient and kind guy. I will miss him. Mary and children, may you all have God's loving grace.

Dave was a great neighbor and friend. He was kind of like our unofficial "mayor" of our neighborhood and his advice was always wise and appreciated. His outgoing and friendly personality will be greatly missed and I will always remember him fondly. My deepest condolences to Mary and the Whitfield family on his untimely passing.
