Dave was an incredible friend and influence when I was growing up. I fondly remember Dave teaching me how to fix my bike, talking with me about cars, and debating who was the better cyclist: Greg LeMond or Eddy Merckx. Dave took me to my first race, showed me how to fish, and introduced me to Magnum P.I. And Miami Vice.
