I just learned of Dierdre's passing in the UVA magazine. I went to college with her and have so many fond memories of her laughter and friendliness to everyone she met at UVA. So sorry to all that have lost so much.

My heart is breaking over the devastating loss of a dear friend. I worked with Deidre at UCSF when I was a post-doc and she was our amazing research assistant. So many long work days were made that much more enjoyable with Deirdre's wit, brilliance and laughter. She was a kind, genuine, gracious and wonderful person and became a close friend to me and my family. We will miss her greatly. A life taken from us too soon, with so much to give, to all whom were lucky enough to know Deidre. Her kindness and sweet nature will be remembered by many I'm sure.
