DENIS YANG Obituary
died on January 9, 2017 at his home in Manhattan. He was 90 years old and the devoted husband of Kathleen Mao Yang, his wife of 55 years. He was a respected collector of Chinese art, a world traveler, a connoisseur and a beloved husband, father and friend. Denis was born on May 9, 1926 in Shanghai, China to Yang Yin and Hsieu-yoeh Tsai Yang, the second of four children. He attended Jiao Tong University, Shanghai and graduated from the University of Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Mao Yang, two children, Randall Yang and Ruthie Yang Van de Castle, and four grandchildren--Jack Yang, Maxine Yang, Ivan Yang and Jacob Van de Castle. Service: 10am on January 14, 2017 (viewing at 9am) at Frank E. Campbell at 1076 Madison Ave. at E. 81 St. The family asks that donations be made in Denis's name to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Watson Library.

I had the blessing of knowing Denis for almost thirty years. We worked together for thirteen years and after his retirement stayed in touch. How could it be otherwise? I'll miss his voice, his gusto and most of all his smile. A kinder, gentler man never walked the earth.
