Not sure what to say?

A young resident of Mansfield, I did not know Captain Carlson personally. However, it is immensely clear how much of an impact he had on the Tolland community and others close by. My father was a CT State Trooper for 30 years. He moved to Troop C in Tolland in about 1999 and was immediately introduced to Captain Carlson. According to my dad and his fellow troopers, Captain Carlson was an outstanding human being and maintained a relationship with him for many years. My dad after hearing about...

I am in shock to say the least. I found out today that Dennis passed. I was actually saying hello to someone and mentioned him randomly and how great of a person he was. They proceeded to say that he will be missed and that is how I found out. Dennis was a person of true integrity. He helped me so much with my yard work and provided me with information that would help me maintain my home. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He was a great, great person. I was never around when he...

Group of 10 Memorial Trees

I was a CNA for many years for a woman in Tolland. Dennis went above and beyond to help her. Did her lawn/made sure her driveway was plowed so I could get there in the winter. He even went to her Dr appointments with her when she knew she was dying. I can't believe I am reading this. So very sorry to his family for their loss.

With deepest sympathy during this difficult time.

Dear Carlson family: Our Family was so lucky to know Dennis. We were neighbors, our daughter attended Tolland Schools, and it was always comforting to see Dennis at school functions helping out, because he always was there to protect us and keep us safe. He was a kind man ,that with just a smile , acknowledged that you were seen. he will be truly missed ,and what a tremendous loss for our community.Thank you for sharing your wonderful father, husband, brother, with us.

My deepest sympathy to you and the family Reva, I only had the pleasure of meeting Dennis once. The both of you were meant to be your generous hearts matched. He drove his truck nearly an hour with you, from Tolland to my apartment in New Britain to bring Cassie a mattress set you had. That is just one example I am sure of more than you can count of the generosity of Dennis and your family. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by the community as well. Sending so much love your way....
