Not sure what to say?

Dennis was a great good man. He was my mentor in my first job out of college and taught me to love literature, and teaching with a delighted zest and energy. Always ready to laugh, always ready to dig in. He taught me (and showed me with our classes), the pleasure of high standards and hard thinking--what great fun it was to dig in to a text, to an idea and really wrestle with it. He taught me the power of challenging ideas, of refusing easy answers, and the sheer delights of great...

The Kusek family will always remember the wonderful times we had at the Kennedy home. At their holiday gatherings Dennis was truly Old Fezziwig from a Christmas Carol and made every memory bright and enduring. You are so dearly missed by all. None of us will ever forget you. Rest in peace, old friend. Thank you for the joy that you brought to all of us.

He was the leader of two NMH traveler trips to Ireland where he was an amazing and knowledgeable guide

Dennis was a wonderful friend during our Stonehill College years 1967-1971!. He created and coached a girls basketball team that I participated in at 5'2" tall. He encouraged everyone to be their best, to be kind and most of all to laugh and sing, So much laughter and fun at Brother Mike's and in our Townhouses,,,,, I wish you peace and comfort knowing that Dennis was loved by many - from the good ol' college days,,,,,, It is hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember........For...

Dear Mr Kennedy, You have forever imprinted the depths of my soul and mind. I unite the two through a revolutionary eloquence, living my life in enjoyment and rage. We love you forever.

Mary, Sam and I have so many fond memories our passing conversations with you along the paths of NMH or sharing a meal in alumni hall. Dennis was a mentor to the two of us in so many ways when we were new to NMH. Grace to you and your family during this time of grieving. Jen and Sam Keator

My sincerest condolences to Dennis´ wife and family and to the Kennedy women who have lost their beloved brother, Dennis, as well as their beloved sister, Sheila, within the course of one month. I was a friend to both Dennis and Sheila in high school and remember them fondly at this moment of sorrow. I´ve not seen Dennis in many years but am not surprised by his success as a teacher, mentor and community leader. He will forever be remembered locally for his basketball exploits as a member of...

I was Dennis "freshman roommate from hell" at Stonehill. Two totally mismatched 18 year olds. I was everything he wasn´t, serious, dedicated, and driven to succeed. We had a good laugh about it at our 20 year reunion and I followed his career in education with great pride. My condolences to his family and all the students whose lives he impacted so positively. The pride of New Bedford. May he rest in peace.

Jane, So sorry to hear of your brother´s passing. We are praying for your whole family. Sending lots of love, Missy, Stephen, Joshua, Isaac, Jordan, & Phoebe
