Diana Toups Durham

1933 - 2022

Diana Toups Durham, age 89, passed away on July 4, 2022. She was born in Houma, Louisiana on March 5, 1933. She is preceded in death by her parents Prosper and Wilma Toups; her husband Captain Henry Kevlin Durham; her sisters, Nanette Toups Schmitt ( Mike), Ester Toups and brother Adonis Toups (Fay). Also preceded in death by her two sons Donald and David. Diana is survived by her sister Priscilla, her brothers Prosper (Beverly), Alcide and Peter (Denise). Mother to Daniel (Nancy), Dennis (Liz), Richard (Stephanie) and Robert (Liz). Grandmother to Dennis Jr. (Leanne), Derek, Colleen, Joshua, Caitlyn, Megan (Casey), Kathleen (Sean) Patricia (Stephen), Courtney, Alex and Emma. Great Grandmother of 12. Aunt and Great Aunt too many. Diana graduated from Mercy Nursing School in 1954. She was a selfless caregiver and friend to all who knew her and those in need. She will be missed by many. There was a saying among her sons when asked "Where's ya mama?" Answer: "Don't know she has gas in her van!" Special thanks to Dr. Alan Yager and his staff, Sunrise Senior Living, East Jefferson Hospital 2nd and 3rd floor nurses. All friends, families, members of the New Orleans Baton Rouge Pilots are welcome to attend the visitation on Saturday July 9, 2022 at 10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00pm. Interment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to charity of your choice.
