Katherine and I will always remember Diana's smile, her gentleness, sense of humor, and kindness. She was a beautiful woman and human being. We were lucky to know her.

John,
I am so very sorry to hear that you have lost Diana. Beautiful, poised, funny, clever, knowledgeable and kind, Diana was the first friend I made in South Bend when we moved there in 1994. I am not at all surprised that she became a visionary once she found some time to do so, after retirement.

Your story in the New Yorker pays a fitting tribute to the enviable love and bond you both shared and the unbreakable love that expanded exponentially while you were together. The term soul mates was never as appropriate. May she rest in peace. So sorry for your loss.
