Diane Ayers Candebat

Diane Ayers Candebat, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on January 8, 2022, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 74. She is survived by her children, Chantel and John Faciane, and Dominick and Tabitha Candebat; and by her grandchildren, Haley Faciane, and Eliana and Lillian Candebat. She was preceded in death by her sister, the late Norma Lee, and by her brother, the late William Norman Ayers, Jr. Diane was born in New Orleans to the late Lillian P. Ayers and William Norman Ayers, Sr. She attended Holy Angels High School and Charity School of Nursing. Diane enjoyed a 35-year career in nursing, primarily as the Director of Nursing, for several nursing homes throughout New Orleans and Saint Bernard. Whether she was called Diane, Mom, or Mimi, she was loved by all and will be dearly missed. The family extends a heartfelt debt of gratitude to Heart of Hospice for their excellent care and dedication to Diane in her last days. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at St. Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, in Chalmette, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral mass will begin in Diane's memory at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
