While my father fought the Viet Cong, and while my mother made career and life choices, I soulfully bonded to my dear, sweet grandmother, Dollie. This is why I love and miss her so much. I knew her as my Grannie.
She taught me social interactions just by observing her day to day living. Reading the other messages about her, brings back many fond memories, but just does not mend the aching hole in my soul.
How do you fix a soulache, instead of a heartache? Music helps.
John Denver, unknowingly, wrote a theme song for my grandmother. I like to think of it as Grannie's Song, instead of Annie's Song. My family and her friends would most likely agree, if they have ever heard the song.

My Aunt Dollie was one of the most hospitable human beings I've ever known. She greeted you with a warm smile, a sweet voice, and plenty of food on the table. I always wanted to emulate her style and grace and never disappoint her expectations for cleanliness or good manners. Her entire family was a blessing to me and I'll never forget their love and generosity. My warmest thoughts are with them now.
