Mrs. Aaron was a positive force in my life from the time my family moved to New Orleans in 1965. As she'd often remind me, my dad turned me over to her protective care while I navigated my way through Andrew J. Bell Junior High School. She was still there, beyond junior high school and into my adult life. Mrs. Aaron could be counted on - always smiling, loving, and with a kind word.
She was greatly loved and appreciated and she will be greatly missed.
My mother Norma and I both send our prayers and most heartfelt sympathies. God's peace and blessings to you Bill and your family.

My prayers are with you. It must be wonderful to read such glowing stories about your loved one. We all have a positive story to tell about Mama Dee Dee and I am no exception. Working for NORD at Stallings Center helping Aaron with the Slimnastics class, I met with her and asked what she thought of me opening my own studio...she encouraged me to do just that. She was a helper and she raised he family to be the same. What an inspiration to grow up with her as a parent. You had to learn very early on that Mama Dee Dee belonged to us all. Prayers for the family and heaven has another angel...

Mama Dee was my first mentor and first boss at NORD. She was an incredible source of support and wisdom. She placed a lot of confidence in me and at the time I was only 21 years old. She had me with her in meetings with the mayor, city council and other high power forums. Mama Dee taught me how to handle pressure, how to be thorough and poised. NORD has never had a director like her. She was incredible. Her best advice has stayed with me; "You are in the place you are supposed to be". She will be greatly missed.

Goodbye Mama Dee Dee,
I will remember you as teacher, mentor and friend, my prayers are to lift you up and may God's blessing rain on you in glory.
Remember Them With Love
I know you're feeling sad,
I know your grief is real,
It must be very hard to deal,
With the pain that you must feel.
People leave us every day.
And as the two ends of the circle meet,
When their time on earth is finished;
The circle is complete.
A life they say is measured,
By the good people do when they're here.
But because of the love we hold in our hearts,
Our only thought is to keep them near.
So we say goodbye to our loved one,
As we send them to heaven above,
We will miss & keep them close to our hearts.
And remember them with our love.

There are very few times when I have been at a lost for words, but hearing of the death of Mama DeeDee was one of those times. Mrs. Aaron has played an integral role in my life since the late seventies. While working under her in the Alternative Schools of NOPS System she encouraged me to complete my undergraduate degree and to go on to secure a Masters. She was there for me when my mother was ill and after her death. Her love and support has guided me through parenting my child, whom she called her angel. Through my day to day dealings with children I can always hear her voice giving guidance and direction on how to best help each child. Her legacy to those whose lives she touched is a testament to the life she lead. Please know that she was a great lady who will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

To the Aaron Family,
I'm so sorry to read about the passing of Mrs. Aaron. I met her in 1959, I was in the court of the Y.M.I. carinval club. On the night of the ball Mrs. Aaron came up to me and said "relax, this is one of the best times in your life." During the Waltz I witnessed Mr. & Mrs. Aaron and they took my breath away. It was as though they were the only one's on the dance floor, as if they were on a cloud. Eventhough I was the Queen of the ball that year, Mr. & Mrs. Aaron were King & Queen of the dance floor. They made my debut even more memorable. She will be deeply missed.

Mama Dee was truly a beautiful person. So many times she has brightened my day with the nice things that she would say or do. I would always call and visit with her whenever I would come home. Just a few months ago she was with the Class of 1951's 60th anniversary (J S Clark High) and she came to all of our events and had a most enjoyable time. I will truly miss Mama Dee because on many occasions she lifted my spirits (especially when my own mother died). She always found a way to give comfort and strength to show that she really cared. This Godly, intelligent, and wonderful woman was like my bridge over troubled waters. I will truly miss her because I dearly loved myself some Mama Dee. Deepest sympathy to William II and his family.

Let us not focus on the date before nor the date after, but on the dash between which represents all she accomplished in her time here on earth, t he families whose lives she affected, the children and young people whose lives were turned around. I remember her saying to me one day, "you'd be surprised how well you will be received in a home if you just sit down with the family, have a bottle of coke, talk and spend some time with them."
