Don Fife Obituary

FIFE, DON C. Age 80, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27 th at Community Care and rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family. Cause of death was due to congestive heart failure. Don was born in Logan, Utah June 15, 1925 and moved to Riverside at an early age. He attended local schools and graduated from Polly High School in 1942. Don served in the Marine Corp. during World War II, stationed in Guam as an office clerk to the Probast Marshall. He returned to Riverside after his military discharge and attended Riverside City College graduating with an A.A. degree. He then attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo earning a B.S. degree in agronomy in 1952. specializing in field crops. His first position after graduating from college was working with U.S.D. of agriculture as a Research Agriculturist, and he also held that same position later for Holly Sugar. Moving back to Riverside in 1960 he later worked in sales for Burpee Seed and Inland Pipe and Supply. He is survived by his loving wife Stella of 53 years and two daughters, Nancy Walter (Michael) of Laguna Beach, Betsy Albrecht (Robert) of Riverside and grandson Trevor Albrecht. He also leaves behind his sister Maurene Dorris of Downey, CA and brother Blaine Fife of Sylmar, CA. He was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. Don enjoyed gardening and spent many hours working with his plants. Private graveside services will be handled by Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park December 6.
