DONALD ALTMAN Obituary

ALTMAN,MD, DONALD H., 88, of Miami Beach passed away peacefully at his home on April 13, 2014. Born in St. Louis Mo., Donald moved to Miami in 1951 as the first Radiology Resident at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was the first full time Pediatric Radiologist at Variety (Miami) Children's Hospital where he severed as Chief of Radiology for over 50 years. Donald was a dedicated father, physician, teacher, husband and friend who lived life to its fullest with love, gratitude, kindness and compassion. Survived by beloved wife of 36 years, Linda; loving children, Nolan, Mona, Brian Sandy & Ann; cherished grandchildren, Hannah, Jenna, Lucas, Lacey, Justin, Blake, Corey, Alexa, Nicholas, Noa & Zoe; dear sister Joan Swain and many nieces and nephews, Donald will be greatly missed but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MCH Radiology Restricted Fund. Services: Wednesday, April16, 2014 at 12:30 PM Temple Beth Sholom, 4144 Chase Ave, Miami Beach, FL Burial to follow at Old Mt Nebo, 5505 NW 3rd St, Miami Shiva to be held at the home of Sandy Altman, Wednesday 4:00-9:00, Thursday 12:00-9:00 and Friday 12:00-4:00.
