I was priviledged to broadcast almost every college football game Don played in while he was a Lobo. Don was part of an extraordinary group of young men who made living in Alpine very special during the early 1980's. I was not aware of his passing until this week, when I read the report about Don being inducted into the Sul Ross Athletic Hall of Honor next month. Carla, please know that we share in your loss, and we will always cherish those fall afternoons following the Lobos around the TIAA.

To all the Bandy Family. My heart felt wishes go out to you all. In looking up a time for a memorial for my Mom I surprisingly & saddenly came across the picture of Don and his passing. Don was a good friend & teammate at Anderson. He was full of life and I remember never seeing him without a dip in his lip & that big smile on his face. A tough competetor he played Tightend most of our District Championship Season with a broken bone in his ankle/leg, but never complained. He could always make...

Although I did not have the honor of knowing Don for more than 4 years,I will miss my mirror.As myself he called it as it was not a fake person ,to the point this is whom I am. I will miss our talks about his boys,life,relationships and whom was uglier he or I. Will miss you you ole goat.

Have great memories of good times back when we were just out of school. DJ was a great guy and will be missed by all.

Dear Kelly, I had no idea of Don's passing. My heart breaks for all of the Bandy family. We were there last year with Sterling and I feel your pain. I am very sad about Don,s passing. He was a great friend - driving me to and from school every day- Anderson High 1977. We also spent time together at Tyler JC. I am praying for the Bandy family,
