Donald M. Cripps of Woburn June 24, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Norma (Charles) Cripps. Born in Fall River, MA in 1927, Donald was educated in the Fall River School System. He joined the US Navy in 1944 and served on the USS Kretchmer in the South Pacific, during World War II. Upon his return from the war, Donald attended Bryant College and became a construction accountant, until 1973, when he joined his wife’s family business. M.F. Charles & Sons, Inc. and became its chief operating officer and manager of the M.F. Charles Building, a landmark in Reading Center. Donald and his wife were both world travelers. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Services and burial are private.

Mr. Cripps you will be missed at Bunratty Tavern. It was always a joy when you came to visit, you were always a gentleman and are so happy that you took the time to tell us stories about your "Beautiful Bride" and about the history of what we now call Home.

i also had the privilege to work with Donald and Norma for 10 years at MF Charles. Those years I learned much from my old boss and many lessons have lasted into my 50s now. Thier laughter and love for each other and life will stay with me always.

Don, I have such great memories of working at MF Charles during my junior year of high school; I clearly recall marveling at all the pictures of your travels, displayed in Normas office at the back of the store. In recent years, I would see you at the Main Street Starbucks on occasion and enjoyed reminiscing with you about delivering the Sunday newspaper in the early 1970s, distributed from the space behind the store.

Mr. Cripps - we will miss you sitting in your corner seat by the side entrance at the 8 a.m. Mass at St. Charles and your clear "AMEN." We will miss you at your seat at the bar at Tremonte and we will also miss seeing your distinctive car around town. You watched my five kids grow from babies to high school and college age at the 8:00 a.m. Mass at St. Charles - with a greeting of "Good Morning Mother" before you learned my name. We have lost a wonderful friend, fountain of knowledge, voice of authority and most caring husband.
To have known and helped Norma and Don since 1965 has been a true pleasure with many fond memories of the creaking MF Charles store floor, stories on Florida, the MF Charles Building, his engagement interview by Norma's family, the fascinating pictures on their world wide travels, etc., etc..
