Not sure what to say?

Donnie was a great friend and American. We all remember the things he did for our state and Nation. Sterling Anderson

My prayers and condolences are with you during this transitional time of Don stepping out of time into eternity. Bravo for fight well fought and a race well ran.

My father, Donald H. Turner, was a high school friend of Don Fowler in Spartanburg, SC. Over the years, they kept in touch. My dad respected and really looked up to Don Fowler. I'm so sorry to learn of Don Fowler's passing, and his family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

We shall miss Don in our City, State and Nation. He was a dedicated pubic servant in many capacities his entire life. I first met Don when he assisted my grammar school basketball, Coach Joe Mooneyham at West End Elementary School while a student athlete at Wofford College. He made a lasting impression on me then, as a young man and we have been friends for life.
Don was the type of person who was your friend when you were on the top of the mountain, but more important, he was with you...

We have lost a fine gentleman and statesman. I am happy to count him as one of my friends. I hope all the wonderful memories of Don will be a comfort to his family ,as they are to me.

Enjoyed many hours of comradeship with Donnie growing up in Spartanburg. He was a fine Christian young man. I had the highest respect for him. He will be missed. Deepest sympathy to him wife and entire family.

What a wonderful professor at Carolina back in the early 80’s! I learned so much from him and greatly admired him over the years. This is a huge loss to our state. My sympathy to his family & friends.

Dr. Fowler was a wonderful man and professor. He not only shared his almost encyclopaedic knowledge of US politics with his students, but taught us to respect one another regardless of politics. He was both a gentleman and a scholar which is sadly a combination lacking in the world of politics. He will be missed and your family is in my prayers.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
