As long as I am blessed to live on this Earth, I will never have the honor to know, talk to, and be around a finer man. He told my mom how to dress me in high school, he rooted for me while I played football at Tech, and always made time to talk with me at Hokie Games. In football terms---he was a Great One!

If I were not dependent upon others to drive me at the moment, I would be in Lexington to say goodbye to Don. He was a significant presence in my life during those formative high school and college years. In the spring of 1969, toward the end of my junior year of high school, he drove a friend and me to Lexington to visit W&L.
