Donald Little Jr.

1933 - 2025

Donald Cubbison Little, Jr. of Tallahassee Florida passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the age of 91. He was born on October 7, 1933, in San Antonio, TX and lived in several places as the son of an Army officer.

He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science and then later from the Naval Post Graduate School in 1966, where he earned a Master of Science in Physics.

He honorably served as an officer in the U.S. Army for 20 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel and then as a government employee and contractor until he retired at age 65.

He was a Life Master at bridge, an avid fly fisherman, and enjoyed time golfing.

He is preceded in death by wife, Carole (nee Howard) of Frederick, MD; son, Donald C. Little III; parents, Donald C. Little, Sr., Kelley Little, and sister, Myra Withers.

He is survived by his wife, DeVerle (nee Titus) of Tallahassee, FL; Daughters - Myra Tammy Miller (Mark); Tracy Beath (Jim); Trena Kirk; and Sons - Gregory Little (Julie), & Michael Little (Suzanne). He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren & 16 Great-grandchildren, and his brother William Little.

Honor and service were very important to him and guided him throughout his life. He was a loving and caring father who made tough choices for his family. He cites his six children and their readiness to stand on their own two feet in the game of life, as his greatest achievement.

The family would like to thank the staff of Westminster Oaks and Home Instead for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.



Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass, which is in the planning stages.

Interment to follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
