Not sure what to say?

Shocked to hear of Don's death and very sad. I spent 2 years with Don in the Navy on the USS Sylvania (AFS-2), which was home-ported in Naples, Italy and was the main supply ship for the U.S. Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean. We worked together in the Supply Office and spent many liberties together with our other friends, George Peller, Tony Hipp, and Jim Helfman. Don, along with Jim, were the "old men" of the group, and Don was always adding his wonderful and unusual insights into our...

My Dear and Long Time Friend Carolyn, my deepest sympathy and love to you and your family, I send you much love and prayers for peace in your hearts.Thal

Dear Carolyn, both you and Don are very special to Jacob and me. We've told the Piper Place story to friends and family time and time again. The cabin in the woods that you lovingly built with Don seems like a fantastic tale from a storybook to us, full of adventure. We are grateful for the time we spent with you both in your home and we will always think of Don as the warm-hearthearted woodsman who was so content and at peace with the life he forged for himself amid nature and alongside...

Carolyn I am so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a remarkable man and father.

Please accept a long-lost cousin's deepest sympathies, dear Lyn, Adam, and Joel.

One of many summers spent with Don and family.

Don was my best friend since 1966 when we met in the Navy and serviced together..... Married his sister, he married her roommate.... Our children are good friends
today thanks to years of family outings for over 30 years, organized
by Don. Many laughs .... many good times. We will always miss him.
