Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Don's death today (11-3-17) after mentioning his servant heart in an article recently published. He was one of a kind. And, I enjoyed working with him when I was a consultant to FirstBank several years ago. My prayers go out for his family for this amazing man.

I had not spoken to Don in many years. I do not know why I thought of googling his name today...just to see where he might be. He and I worked at Hester Hardware in the 60's. I suggested to the Hesters that when they retire...Don was just the right guy to sell the business to. He always had a smile on this face and ready to go.

Such a small world....I saw Don on the campus of SMU years later...he was moving his son into a dorm.....we were moving our daughter into hers. His son...

The passing of Don, just at the time we have planned to visit our long lost friend, left us very sad. He was a wonderful person, generous, funny and with a big heart. His legacy will be with me for ever and the beautiful boots we presented to me will remind me on Don. My dear friend, rest in peace, I miss you.

Our love and prayers go out to your entire family.

Even though I had only met Don a couple of times, it was so obvious he was a very special person. I am so sorry for your loss. Julie

I love you Don, you will be missed. You and Billy can share stories now. Can't wait to see you again.

Don was a wonderful guy that I will miss immensely! He was a special friend to Tech Baseball all the way back to Coach Segrist. He will certainly be missed out at Rip Griffin Park!!!

Kristi and Family,
We met your dad on a couple occasions and he always lit up the room. We are truly sorry for your loss, our prayers and thoughts are with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Billie as you deal with the many emotions and matters that must be taken care of. In the days ahead, lean on friends and family and on your faith in God whose grace will see you through. Love you!
