Donald H. SCHEICK

SCHEICK, Donald H. born in Monroe, MI on March 2, 1930 and passed away peacefully in his home on November 20, 2017.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia Ann, son, Michael, parents, Harold and Lillian Scheick, and sisters, Mary Allice and Janette. He is survived by his family members, brother, Charles Scheick; son, Steve W. Scheick; daughter, Cheryl Scheick Soderberg (Neal); grandchildren, Terese Forster (Gabe), Steven B. Scheick, Nichole Scheick, Alyssa and Carly Soderberg; and great-grandchildren, Lylah and Sage Forster. His family was the center of his universe and the source of much joy and love. Don attended St. Joseph's College and the University of Arizona. He retired from Hughes Aircraft after 24 years as an electrical engineer then worked for H&R Block.  Prior to this, he worked as a field engineer in both the Atlas and Titan missile programs and served in the US Airforce. He was always the "go to" person that could fix anything. Don was and ardent golfer who enjoyed early morning golf dates and also enjoyed playing and competing in sports in his earlier years and was very accomplished. He valued the many friendships he developed during these times. He was a joker and loved to laugh.  He was also known for his kindness, tenacity and perseverance.  He will be missed by many. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cyril Catholic Church, 4725 E. Pima St. followed by a luncheon gathering in the (Nicholson) parish hall.   Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
