We were very sorry to hear of the passing of Don and Chris. My best friend, John Hall, and I were hired by Don and Chris in Nov. 1964 and were among the first young men privileged to work for the fledgling Arcata Ambulance Service. We were all students at Humboldt State and our qualifications, training and equipement were pretty minimal compared to today's standards but I have never worked with a more dedicated, conscientious, and capable group of men, and women. When I first moved to Arcata in 1978 my first job was at Arcata Ambulance and Diamond Glass, aka "Super Cal". I have many great memories working with Don building ambulances for Allied / Oakland. I am probably one of the few in this world who can say I have worked ambulance calls with both Don and Chris! My thoughts and prayers are with their family.
