Donna Jeanne Ball

July 12, 1942 - August 4, 2013

The happy life of Donna Jeanne Ball began when she was born July 12, 1942 to Junior and Maxine Little in Salem, Oregon. She married the love of her life, William Ball on June 20, 1958, after he returned from the Navy.

Donna loved to socialize and her giving nature always had her thinking of others first. She filled her free time with being a school aid, traveling, being at the beach and creating memories with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, William Lee Ball Sr of Salem; sons, William (Janet) Lee Ball Jr of Salem, Jeffrey (Christina) Wayne Ball of Salem, and Johnny Edward Ball of Albany; brother, Michael Little; sisters, Sharon Anderson and Sandra Morris; and many nieces and nephews. She was also blessed with nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 16 at 10am at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors. To leave audio or online condolences please visit www.HED-FH.com.

There isn't much happening with me but Rich is having hip surgery in a couple weeks. then they will do the other hip after first one is healed. Well best go for now hug momma for me. I was thinking about you today. Lots of crazy things going no now with the last President election. Can you believe Donald Trump is our president. Help us all for the next 4 years or if it takes that long. Had a family reunion in Aug. Not many turned out this year. I'm going to do it this next summer. I was so happy that Sarah and her new husband came for a while. I like Chris, he seems to take interest in Hank. Lots of birthdays lately and can you believe Kellie is turning 50 this next Friday. I miss you very much. It was a hard week for me so many thoughts and memories. France Russell past away the end of July. On the 28th they all gathered at Bush Park isn't that the places to be. We're going to be there on the 23rd for a family get together from the Jeffers Clan. I know you, momma, uncle Bob and all will be there too just not in presents. Sure do hope bud and the boys come. Made it through Easter. Missed Brice and Stephanie. All is good here. Kellie got married on the 21st of March. She was beautiful and the wedding was wonderful. Christina Celina and Bud came. Jeff was doing something with the other 2 girls. I miss you very much and I think of you daily. Hope you got to celebrate with momma for her birthday. Oh also Cookie and all 3 of her kids came to the wedding. Cookie is having a rough time with her memory. The stroke really affected her memory nodes. Well that is about all for now. Hey there, Made it through Thanksgiving. Went to Brice and Jordan's. Had a problem with the deepfryer pot...Brice fixed it with a nut and bolt and then the turkey was on it's way to a hot bath. We stopped over by Kellies and then home. Stephanie had snow in Indiana. I can't get into the holiday mode, I'm not sure if I ever will. They say we could get a few snow flakes tomorrow. If we do just know I will be thinking of you. I send my love and miss you! Sharon

I love you grandma. I couldn't stand the thought of your guest book coming down so I renewed it for another year. I probably should have just paid for the permanent sponsership but it was kind of spendy. I can probably renew it again next year though. I know I can just print the memories everyone wrote down off but people keep on posting new ones and I think it's a way for them to still feel close to you. I think it makes grandpa happy to see/hear the tidbits also. I also wanted to thank you and grandpa for the blessing you gave us grandchildren, this is a way I thought I could help repay you. Thank you very much. I hate the circumstances that I was able to recieve the gift, but I can't take back what happened. We miss you and think about you all of the time. See you again someday. <3

It has been a very heavy day for me. It's been 1 year now Donna since we lost you. I guess that it is just going to take more time for me. Today is Erik's birthday can you believe Kellie's first born is 27, I sure can't. Kellie is getting married in March. She is finally happy and never thought she would marry the guy she went to prom with. Chuck is really good to her and I know you would like him a lot. Stephanie is doing good too. She lives in Indiana now. I miss her too but in a different way. She said it's hot which is ok but the humidity is a pain. We found Uncle Bud's 2 girls who live in Ft Wayne. You sure can tell they are Jeffers. Brice is doing good too. I declared Aug. 4th Red Lipstick Day because you always had that color of lipstick.....LOL! Love to you, your Sister Sharon.

I love, and miss you so much. I would give anything to have you back. Our whole lives have always included the two of us together.
I brought you your favorite roses for your birthday. Our anniversary is coming up in a few days, surprise....I remembered it without you reminding me. Celina came over recently and asked me if she could lay on your bed." Of course " I said yes, but I almost cried when she only wanted to lay on your side of the bed. She said a couple of times " that's the side grandma slept on". The family is doing well, they love and miss you very much. People say that we will be together again, so save me a spot, it is probably pretty crowded in heaven.

Hello my name is Steve Ellis. My condolences to each and every member of the ball family. I first met Donna when I was a young boy, growing up in West Salem. I went to school many years with Johnny B and Jeff. They became good friends of mine. We used to play football at Walker Jr. High. And anybody who Grew up in W. salem knew of Walker Jr. High. the weekend football games. In one weekend I got to stay the night at the Ball house, just off of Rosemont Ave, up the hill. I remember Donna always checking on us and and making sure we had enough to eat. She was a very caring mom and she had that impact on me too. It was like I was at my house. I just wanted to take the time to say Sorry for your loss, she is a good lady. Take care to all the lives she affected, even if for only a brief moment. Tragically Aunt "Nonny" was taken bf her time in that horrendous accident. It was a shock wave that rippled down to even her childrens friends. She was a great person, and impacted so many people. As traumatic and sad as this has been for our family; I've enjoyed the random posts on FB of happier times, funny memories, pictures and we still have Uncle Bud. May you RIP Nonny!
