They married in 1952 and emigrated to Nashville with their two eldest children in 1956. Elizabeth took a nursing position at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a nurse in the ER. She continued her nursing career until the twins Andrew and Helen were born.
Outside of nursing, Elizabeth was involved with the Nashville Medical Auxiliary for many years and the parent associations of Ensworth, Harpeth Hall, and MBA. In her younger days, she was an avid tennis player and traveled the world with her family. Later in life a weekly bridge game or a trip to Florida with friends was a highlight for her. As a devoted member of St George's Church for over fifty years, she volunteered in many areas of church life.
The family wishes to express their sincere love and appreciation to Athena Springer. Athena was a special friend and caregiver to both Elizabeth and Geoffrey. The bond she created with Elizabeth and Geoffrey will never be broken. The love we have for Athena will remain forever.
