Read MoreI first met Mrs. Hawk in the early 70s, when she and her husband, Jim, were looking after his stepfather, Mr. Mesmer. They hired my mom to be his live-in caregiver when I was 6 or 7, and even after he passed away, she remained in contact with my mom, and was a good friend to her for many years. She even reached out to me after my mom passed away in 2011. She was a good and kind person.

Dora Mae was a delightful lady! I enjoyed her in the Raytown Garden Club. Her miniature floral arrangements were amazing and she shared her love of nature and God with all of us. She was a dear person and will be missed by many.
