Doris M. (Bouchie) Dowd

Doris M. (Bouchie) Dowd--94, A resident of Somerville for most of her life died on August 15, 2011. Doris was raised in East Boston and then lived in Everett for a short period of time.


Doris was the beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Dowd and the loving mother of James A. Dowd and his wife Ruth of Quincy, Ruth A. Bergin and her husband Thomas of Wayland, Richard J. Dowd and his wife Lois of Billerica, Mary A. Peacock of Amesbury and her late husband Robert and the late Joan B. Dowd of Hampton, NH. Doris was also the dear grandmother of Ryan Dowd of Jamaica Plain, Kevin Bergin of Weymouth and Kate Duval of Ayer. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren.


The funeral procession will be held from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder house Sq.) in Somerville on Monday, August 22, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Genoa Church in Somerville at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Monday morning, August 22, from 8:30–9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.


Doris was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Cambridge. Marie was a homemaker; however, she was employed part time at various jobs including Waldorf Restaurnat in Somerville, Carr Fasteners in Allston, and Lechemere Sales in Cambridge.
