Carmen, I am very sorry for the loss of your precious mother. I haven't seen her in years however I recall how special she was as she was in our lives often while Joe was living. Please know she is in a better place now, free of cancer and with our Lord and Saviour! As our loved ones pass .. we learn to rely on sweet memories..My prayers are with you as you continue to carry on your legacy of being the daughter of two very special people! Sincerely,

For Doris, I light this candle. She was a very special lady to me and so many people all over the world. My friend and "Scrabble" partner is now with her Lord and free of cancer. Her light will shine on and she will be remembered just for being Doris and all the goodness she has bestowed among so many. Rest in peace Doris...you will be greatly missed.

Carmen, So sad to know about the Passing of your mom. What a great person. You may not remember me but I live in Townsend and spent good times with Doris. We always enjoyed our annual date time in October going to the Founder's Day event at Maryville College.Barbara Everett/[email protected]

Dear Carmen and Family, Your Mother has a very special place in my heart, and her vibrant spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Although your Mom was my client, and banked with me for many years, we became good friends, and I have always been a strong supporter of her philanthropic work and the random acts of kindness she bestowed on so many people throughout her life! (Last year at this very time ... she could not get a hold of me at work, and pulled up in my driveway at home to...

Ceremony for the Eakes School of Nursing- Cape Fear Community College
To the dear family of Doris Eakes, I know you all are suffering a great void. The small amount of time we spent together at the beauty salon, the Cape Fear scholarship fund and writing letters back and forth while she was in Tennessee I discovered just how special a person she was to know. She gives us all great hope of what can be achieved if one puts their mind to a task.
Thank you for sharing your time and love with us Doris, you will be greatly missed!
