When I was a little boy, my grandparents lived next door to Mrs. Lang on Barbara Crescent. (Even after knowing her for almost sixty years, I can't bring myself to call her anything other than "Mrs. Lang", even though she insisted that I call her Doris). I lived out of town, but my father was ill in hospital in Toronto, so I was at my grandparents' quite often. From the moment me met, Mrs. Lang was a lovely, big-hearted friend. She (and Dixon, too!) always looked out for me, always had a hug...
