Not sure what to say?

Doris was an inspiration to me both personally and professionally. She retired the year I started at Friends, yet she never stopped teaching! I marveled at her energy and stamina, and always enjoyed the lunches we shared with other Friends School faculty ladies. If I know Doris, I am sure she is guiding all of our dearly departed citizens in discovering Heaven's nooks, crannies, and
hidden corners... My condolences to the Neumann family; I am sure you miss this special lady.

As a young teacher I was fortunate to teach with Doris at Friends in 1972-1974. She had a great way of guiding and making suggestions: leading us to the right decision by gentle suggestion. How lucky I am that I knew her. I will miss her.

Doris Neumann was a great teacher, a woman who shared far more than simple facts with her students. She imparted to us all a passion for learning, as well as a humane sense of social justice. Her intelligence and integrity were deeply inspiring to me and my classmates at Friends School.

Thank you, Mrs. Neumann. My eternal gratitude to you, and prayers of condolence to your family.

I was fortunate to have Mrs. Neumann as a teacher at Friends in the 1960's. She was a wonderful, caring teacher. My thoughts are with her family.

Doris was a true warrior for truth and love. She was fiercely independent while maintaining close friendships wherever she had been or was. I miss her terribly, but know she is still in the world through her good works.

I knew Doris since 1993. She was my neighbor. We got really close the last six or seven years. She was an incredibly wonderful decent human being. We shared many conversations. She was an inspiration of spirit to me. I will miss her immeasurably.

Remembering Doris Neumann: she knew that I loved geography and swimming - so we studied maps during spare moments and she took me to the Goucher pool and to her home lap pool to swim many times. It was the first time I had been to a college campus (and probably one of the factors in why I ultimately went to school there!). I played tennis with Dr. Bill and his was the first death I ever experienced- many lessons then and since - rest well Doris - your legacy endures through all of us.

Dear Grandma,
Thank you for all the wonderful things you taught me over the years! You are dearly missed.

I am very sorry for your loss but know she lived a full and active life. Doris was warm and generous with her time and spirit to the children in the neighborhood as well. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
