Dorothy Diane Germanowski (known to all as, “Diane”) passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday afternoon, surrounded by family members. She succumbed to a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Diane was an interior designer and taught History at Salem State College. She also was a top selling realtor for over 20 years, selling many homes in the Amesbury/Newburyport and Southern New Hampshire area.
Diane was a graduate of Endicott College and held a master’s degree from Salem State College. She also was a teaching assistant in a Doctoral program in History at Boston University.
Diane was the daughter of Thomas and Priscilla Cloutman of Danvers and later, Amesbury. She leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Glen Germanowski, her adult children, Thomas Marzerka, Asheley Baney, and Curtis Marzerka. She also is survived by her stepchildren, Erin Germanowski, Lisa Germanowski Manni, and Ben Germanowski, six grandchildren, Ryland and Emmaline Marzerka, Fae Tyler, Bella Becotte, and Rosalie and Aaron Manni. and her only sister, Rebecca Fazzio.
She excelled at everything she did and was loved by all. She was a very loving Mother and Stepmom.
The wake will be from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, January 10 at the Paul C. Rogers Funeral Home at 2 Hillside Ave. in Amesbury. The funeral service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, January 11, at the funeral home. Burial will be delayed and scheduled in the Spring.
