Dorothy Carolyn McGee (Brereton) passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the age of 66 after a short, courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 9, 1950 in New Haven, Connecticut. Dorothy lived in Santa Barbara until she met and married her husband, Dennis, in 1978, moving to...

Not sure what to say?

It is hard to believe that it was the summer of 1964, when Dave Vogel and I knocked on Dorthy's door on Sunset Drive in Santa barbara. We had all just finished at San Roque. We had a dance coming up at Bishop High pretty soon and neither one of us knew the first thing about how to dance. So, Dorthy opened the door, and said "yes....." We told her what was up. She thought a moment, and invited us in. She grabbed a brand new 45 record she had just bought, and put it on the record player. ...

Dorothy's passing was certainly too sudden and I hope that her family and friends will remember the good times. I enjoyed her as a classmate for approximately four years at San Roque and for my one year at Bishop. It was a pleasure to see her at reunions and her familiar smile, laugh and sunny disposition bridged the span of years apart. I will remember her fondly as a treasured classmate in my youth.

Dorothy, you will be so missed. When I see you next you better be planning the best WWH weekend in the sky because I'll be ready to party! I'll even bring Nina so she can chew on your blow dryer for old times sake. Love you always, Deb

We are saddened by our loss, but Heaven is brighter because of her smile. From grade school to high school to reunion years, Dorothy was a constant beam of light that we all gravitated to. Her laugh and smile were infectious. She was kind and compassionate and our memories of her will keep her alive, always. My sympathy to Dorothy's family for their great loss.

One of the sweetest gals I knew at Bishop High. She was well liked and will be well missed. My condolences to the family. She is in the arms now of her Creator and Lord.
Until we meet again, Rest in Peace.

You were always the leader in our shenanigans even though I was older. A true friend, confidant and always had your back has left us. But I believe we now have an angel watching over us. Bye for now, Muriel

My Prayers and thoughts are with Dorothy. Via con Dios.

My deepest sympathies for your loss of a lovely lady in every way. Although we didn't see each other very often, we were always glad to see each other. I considered Dorothy a dear friend, as did so many of her Bishop classmates. She left this world much too soon and will sincerely be missed.

Sending my deepest sympathy and love to the family and loved ones of Dorothy. Such a beautiful lady; inside and out. All my love and prayers
