Dorothy (Doti) Cleo Percell Parr

Dorothy (Doti) Cleo Percell Parr 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at her home in Redondo Beach, California. Dorothy was born in Bennington, Oklahoma on March 5, 1920. She was the 5th child of 8, and the first daughter of Betty Davis Kennedy-Percell and William Harvey Percell. She enlisted as a WAC in World War II on November 20, 1943. Dorothy married the love of her life, Lt Col. Albert Thomas Parr on August 17, 1946 in New Mexico. They raised four children together, Jean Anne Trutanich, Dorothy June Hook, Thomas Albert Parr and Harold James Parr. They were married fifty-four years, when Albert passed away on May 7, 2001. Dorothy was survived by her Three children, Eleven Grandchildren, Twenty-four Great-grandchildren, Eighteen Great-Great-Grandchildren, and her Best Friend Nelly and the Cat, Chuck! Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; daughter Dorothy June Hook, four brothers and three sisters. A gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate her life on September 11 at 10 AM at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, Ca. A short reception will follow. Because of Doti's love of Hawaii, we will be celebrating in casual island attire. The interment will take place at 2 o'clock at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, Ca.
