Susan and David,
Your Mom was a very close and dear friend of mine since 1960. Our friendship began as being nextdoor neighbors. We shared so much over these past years together----learning how to be "MOMS" was one of our first lessons. She had NO problem with that task. Dortha was a terrific Mom. I have never seen such a loving and devoted Mother as she was to you both.
I am so very lucky to have called her my friend. She was a wonderful and kind LADY and I will really miss her.
My sympathy to you both and your families.
Love,
Linda Penny

Susan and David,
I am sorry to have missed the service for Dortha. Be certain I was there in spirit to mourn the loss of my dear, longtime friend. I think it is 50 years at least that I have been close to you mom.She was a friend as she was a mom to you - - always there for help and support. She and Steve shared most of the good times as well as the bad. We will all miss her greatly.
With love and sympathy to all, Jane Bremer

We were so happy to call Dortha our dear friend ever since she arrived in Houston many years ago. We have shared so many of life's experiences with her; and she was always there in rough times, as well as the happy occasions. Truly, she was such a wonderful, loving, and selfless person. We will miss her so much, David and Susan, and
will continue holding you and your families in our thoughts and prayers now and in the days to come. Our love and deepest sympathies, Harriet and John Wolda

David, Susan & Families,
I am sorry to learn of Aunt Dortha's passing. We did not see each other enough since we lived in different parts of the country. I have fond memories of our visits to the family home on Kimberley Lane in 1964 and 1973. Your parents were wonderful hosts who made us feel welcome. I enjoyed having telephone conversations with your mom and appreciate the love and support she gave my father. I still have a pair of socks she made for my dad as a birthday gift some 65 or 70 years ago. They are still in great shape, they fit me and I wear them occasionally. Cindy and my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Love,
Dennis
