Sorry to hear. I just learn of this after a new clip on Nia Long. I had not visited in many years and recently though of him. You did so much for my education from Jr. High beyond. It was always a pleasure to listen to your stories, the poetry, to see your style, to hear how proud you were of your daughters and for providing an example for young black males. Thank you ever, so much. My deepest condolences to the family. Rest in Power, Doc! One Love

With Doc Long's passing the city of Trenton NJ has lost an awesome local resource and an under-sung treasure in the education of our youth; as well as others who only needed to ask to be privy to his vast storehouse of knowledge and know how about any number of things. His empathy, encouragement, warmth, and loving-ness is greatly missed. What a splendid man God gave us. And took away all too soon. I, and many others are richer for having known him.
