Douglas Gregory Grier

Douglas and I were teammates on the West Mecklenburg HS golf team during my Senior year and his Sophmore year, that would be 1971-72. Doug was a great player, and I always considered him a lifelong friend. I regret not being able to talk and see him in recent years, he was a such a great fellow to have known. RIP my friend Douglas.

I always admired Doug’s golfing ability in high school (West Meck ‘74) as I was mostly playing baseball. I haven’t seen him in many years, but I always looked up to him. Prayers for the family.

Our sincere thoughts and prayers are extended to the Grier family during the loss of Greg. Growing up together we were raised as family with Aunt Mag and Lousie being our common bond.We pray God's strength during these difficult days ahead. May Greg rest in peace,The Young's Family of third ward.

Growing up, I always looked up to Doug. His willing to give me advice when we were hitting golf balls at “Little Nine” and a little trash talking also. Family, I’ll be praying for strength and faith to get you through this. Rest In Peace Bro Doug.
