June 18, 2021
Orlando , Florida - Mr. Douglas Gregory Grier, 64 of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Charlotte, passed away on June 18, 2021. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Grier Memorial Chapel. Visitation from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at York Memorial Park. Grier Funeral Service, 115 John McCarroll Avenue is in charge of arrangements.

Douglas and I were teammates on the West Mecklenburg HS golf team during my Senior year and his Sophmore year, that would be 1971-72.
Doug was a great player, and I always considered him a lifelong friend. I regret not being able to talk and see him in recent years, he was a such a great fellow to have known. RIP my friend Douglas.

I always admired Doug’s golfing ability in high school (West Meck ‘74) as I was mostly playing baseball. I haven’t seen him in many years, but I always looked up to him. Prayers for the family.

Growing up, I always looked up to Doug. His willing to give me advice when we were hitting golf balls at “Little Nine” and a little trash talking also. Family, I’ll be praying for strength and faith to get you through this. Rest In Peace Bro Doug.
