Not sure what to say?

I knew Doug back in 1971 at the University of Illinois @Champaign-Urbana. We worked together in the Office of Instructional Resources. He volunteered to review my master's thesis--page by page ..at his kitchen table with a house full of kids and a new baby. I never forgot that act of kindness and interest in my work. Lost track of him when the whole family left for the adventure in Africa! Ivory Coast.? So sorry to read about his passing. He was a great human being. RIP, Doug.

HIS CHILDREN

I sure miss my dear daddy! Time passes but I I never stop thinking of him today and always. It's lovely to read the memories others put in here. THANK YOU ALL!

Doug was an unforgettable person, and my favorite teacher at UMKC. I remember working on a research project with him and making parachutes with his kids. He will be missed.

I have been going through the correspondence of our son Cameron [Cam] North who died 3 years ago of a heart attack, he was an avid collector of movie memorabilia and passionate about silent movies, he felt they were the best ever made. In his things I came across a handwritten letter from Douglas 1993 answering a request from Cameron.
i have no idea what the request was, some kind of photos, he had approached people as Spielberg and Scorese.
Did you want this letter.

I just found out that Doug passed away. He was an unforgettable character - I'll miss seeing his ramshackle station wagon go by. So long, Doug!

Still missing our Daddy, but so glad that we can come here to see notes and memories from friends and family. <3

Dear Micah and Noah,
I also want to thank you for putting the 80 years on line. I shared it with John and Bruce Grimes. We all loved it.
