Mr. Waters was my 6 grade teacher. He was stern but cool at the same time. He cared about his students. I'm a better man for what he did for my self confidence in that era and time in my life. Thank you for pouring into my education and my life Mr. Waters. Mrs. Waters and family I'm honored that you shared a great teacher with all of us. Our prayers are with you!

Ursula, Brenda, Paulette and the entire Waters family, my heart weeps for your loss. I know that, from the beautiful, close way that you guys grew up in Pocomoke City, Md., you have the strength and closeness to comfort each other, while cherishing the many wonderful memories of Douglas. Sometimes our remembrance of the good times is all we have to reflect on and at this time of lose I chose to focus on those great times Doug, myself and the other band members of a group we played in truly shared. We really had some wonderful times making music and enjoying one another's company. He and I would take the long ride to rehearsal and we'd talk about so many things. Mostly about family and the challenges that brought and we talked about spiritual things. Perhaps that day will come again as truly it can be said Jehovah knows the heart of a man.
I miss him, those good times playing music and the great conversations.
My condolences to the Waters family

To the Waters family, you have my deepest sympathy for the loss of Doug. I first met him while attending Bowie State. He, Lawrence Lawson, and Gordon Sampson were the founders of Epsilon Sigma Chapter Omega Psi Phi Fraternity at Bowie State in 1968. I was one of ten members of the Charter Line which established the Chapter on campus.Because of his and the other two founders, the Chapter has been going strong for forty-eight years. Doug will be missed by all of us.

My brother my friend
Always beside me to the very end.
Laughing, rejoicing
At days gone past
Sharing memories that will be held fast.

Doug, I will never forget the many things you did for me. How you took me in and gave up your bed for a year then took me to MA and left me with the only money you had. You were my protector, my friend. I will cherish the memory of the summer we worked together in the science lab at Bowie. I never knew there were so many kinds of soil. Thanks to your curious and questioning mind, I will never look at anything the same.

You were loved and you always showed us love. We were blessed to be a part of your family. We will miss you but you will always be in our hearts.
Your Sister. Diane
