Although miles came between us later in our lives, the memories will live on. We had a few interactions on Facebook when I would ask for one of my mystery plants to be identified by Duane. This is an amusing shot of our group at the one-room Country School we attended until it closed and another picture of the last time I saw him at my Brother Don's Celebration of Life in 2010 in Independence. Wishing all his family and friends smiles to replace the tears as he is honored and remembered. ...

Duane was a good high school classmate friend. Type of friend you want to know through out the years. Unfortunately never usually happens. Gone but not forgotten. RIP Duane

Duane was a great guy and an exceptional mentor to all of the Master Gardeners thru the ISU Extension program. I served on the Executive Board while he was there and he was such a wealth of knowledge for all of us. He has been dearly missed since he left the program. His gardens were a highlight to visit. My deepest sympathy to his family. Carolyn Beck

We fondly remember our time at All Saints Lutheran church in Davenport with your family and so many others. I especially remember Monday morning men´s Bible studies at the Country Kitchen. It took real commitment for about a dozen of us (including Duane) to be there at 6:15 am on Mondays. God´s blessings to your family.
