Mr. Earl Locklear, 80, of Lumberton, NC, departed this life early morning on Sunday, May 8, 2022, with his family at his side. Earl was born in Lumberton, NC on August 15, 1941 to the late John B. & Alma W. Locklear.


He is survived by his wife, Peggy Locklear; his son, John Locklear and wife Kandace; and his daughter, Stephanie Clark – all of Lumberton, NC.


Earl began his own business in the early 1970’s in Lumberton, where his journey as a mechanic soared to one of the most reputable in this area. There wasn’t anything that he would turn away to help his community.


On behalf of the family, we thank each and every one of you for the support and prayers. We are very lucky to have you all in our lives.


The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 3:00-4:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM with Rev. Jackson Locklear and Rev. Rocky Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Lumbee Memorial Gardens in Lumberton, NC.

Mr. Earl was one of the good ones..........mechanic he was "the best" and always having a positive attitude to get you back up and running. Everyone of the guys who worked with us always enjoyed the conversation of taking something to him also. Godspeed Mr. Earl. Our condolences to the family.
