Earle Landes Alderfer Earle Landes Alderfer - 93, of Sarasota, FL; formerly of Harleysville, PA died on Saturday, January 2nd, 2010 at Sunnyside Retirement Community in Sarasota, FL. He was the beloved husband for 73 years to Mary Ellen (Shisler) Alderfer. He was born in Harleysville, PA to the late Melvin and Lizzie Etta (Landis) Alderfer. Earle was the former owner of the Rainbow Motor Lodge in Sarasota, FL. He was a member of Bayshore Mennonite Church of Sarasota, FL. In addition to his wife, Mary Ellen, he is survived by: Herbert Alderfer (Son) & wife, Patricia of Bland, VA John Alderfer (Son) & wife, Francis of Port Charlotte, FL Joe Alderfer (Son) & wife, Barbara of Sarasota, FL Linda Ruiz (Daughter) of Sarasota, FL 8 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at Salford Mennonite Church, 480 Groffs Mill Road, Harleysville, PA where friends may meet with the family from 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM. So sorry to hear of the passing but I know he is with the angels singing. I still remember him teaching us the Grumbling Song when he came to vist us in the nursing where I worked. He will be truely missed
