Warner, Ede Former owner of Smith, Bizzell, Warner and Son Funeral Home of Gary, Warner Mortuary of Kokomo, Warner Funeral Service of Hammond, Indiana and Lil's Package Liquors passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Warner, age 88, was born in Arkabutle, MS. to Edward and Ella (Church) Warner. He was an alumni of E.C. Washington High School class of 1942 and graduate from Worsham Mortuary College in 1947. Ede was a member of the National Funeral Director's Association, the Indiana Funeral Director's Association, the Northwest Indiana Funeral Association and the International Order of the Golden Rule serving as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. He was also a member of Lakeside Lodge #47 P.H.A.F.A.M.; Magic City Consistory #62; Mahomel Temple #134; is a Veteran of World War II and the Korean Crisis; a member of the Airplane Owners & Pilot Association; Flying Funeral Director's of America and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He is remembered for his kindness and service, fariness and concern for families and the community. He was preceded in death by wife, Rita Simmons-Warner; parents, and sister, Lenora Rollen. He leaves to cherish fond memories, two sons, Ede Warner Jr., Ph.D of Louisville, KY and Paul Warner, of Detroit, MI; three daughters, Lynna Townsend and Paula Warner, both of Indianapolis, IN, and Edegene "Geney" Warner, of Hawthorne, CA; one sister, Katherine Morris, of Gary, IN; two nephews, Stephen (Francine) Morris of New York, NY, and Jewell (Charlotte) Rollen, of Lithonia, GA; two nieces, Donna Rollen of Renton, WA, and Karengale Carmen, of Gary, IN; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 1276 W. 20th Ave., Gary, IN. Reverend John E. Jackson Sr. officiating. Visitation Friday, May 4, 2012, family hour 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 6:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Funeral Services, Inc. 2295 Washington St., Gary, IN. Interment Oakhill Memorial Park Gary, IN.

Your Dad was a kind hearted businessman and he had a caring attitude for this particular time in his cutomer's life. I never shall forget the care he gave my Mom when my Dad passed away. He became a part of our family. During the week he picked her up and took her whereever she needed to go to complete her business.
